Joe Yoshida is a ceramic artist working in Mashiko Town, Haga County, Tochigi Prefecture, a town famous for its pottery.

Yoshida's works mainly feature "Bronze," which resembles artifacts unearthed from the earth after a long time, "Akasai," which has a contrasting smooth texture, and the new "Hakuyu" (white glaze) series, which is making its debut in this collection.

In recent years, he has also been creating more series with highly intricate sculptural elements, and each piece embodies a thorough commitment to color and texture.

As expressed in his recent exhibition "Chronicle," the greatest appeal of his work is its unique appearance, which evokes a historical romance as if time itself has accumulated within it.

Despite their imposing and distinctive appearance, another characteristic of Yoshida's works is their surprising "lightness."

These pieces are perfect for daily use, combining not only visual beauty but also an ease of handling that makes you want to reach for them every day. Why not write a new chapter in your daily life with pottery that feels as if it has been there since ancient times?

Takeshi Yoshida, a potter who works in Mashiko, Haga County, Tochigi Prefecture, a town famous for its pottery.

Mr. Yoshida mainly creates two series: "Bronze," which has a texture like unearthed artifacts, and "Hakudeisai" (White Mud Glaze), which resembles the walls of ancient ruins.
In recent years, he has also been producing more rare "Akasai" (Red Glaze) works and a series with very elaborate and strong sculptural elements.

Many of his works show a strong commitment to color and texture, and their unique appearance, like unearthed artifacts, is distinctive.
This time, there are also creative ceramic works such as masks and candle holders.

On the other hand, many of his vessels are lightweight, making them perfect for everyday use.

■Size: Diameter 12cm Height 10cm
■Weight: Approximately 500g
■Material: Ceramic
■Microwave: For warming only / Dishwasher: × / Oven: ×

*Due to being handmade one by one, there may be individual differences in size, color, pattern, and weight.
Also, there may be crack-like marks on the back of the vessel or inside the footring,
but these are superficial kiln cracks from firing and do not pose a problem for use.
Please be aware of this in advance.
