Yoji Matsuoka arrived at the sculpting of "Mass," relinquishing artifice and embracing the will of the material.
The opulent, substantial thickness creates a "free space" where the glass itself transforms into its natural shape according to gravity. Layers of colorless transparent and amber glass overlap, and the way light gathers in the thick rim is like clear spring water. This is not a craft that demands tension, but rather a magnanimous and warm "mass of light" that seamlessly blends into daily dining.
