These are works by Naoko Ueno, a ceramic artist in Takeo City, Saga Prefecture.
Ms. Ueno mainly uses Amakusa potter's clay and forms her pieces using a potter's wheel or by press-molding.
The painting, with its presence reminiscent of old pottery, is remarkably light and delicate.
She primarily uses gosu (cobalt blue underglaze) for her painting, blending it according to the shape and atmosphere of each piece to vary the coloring.
Some pieces also incorporate akae (red overglaze) and iroe (colored overglaze), showcasing a diverse and wonderfully generous aesthetic.
