This is the work of Yuta Tsukamoto, a young ceramic artist who creates pottery in Taketoyo-cho, Chita-gun, Aichi Prefecture.
He primarily crafts thrown ceramic vessels, working with different textures: soft "white," hard and dignified "black," dull-gleaming "silver," and "pale silver" with beautiful fine crazing.
This time, Mr. Tsukamoto created many vessels for Chinese and Japanese tea, which he himself enjoys daily.
His abstract, somewhat sculptural forms and details designed to fit comfortably in the hand reflect the earnest gaze of a creator who thoughtfully approaches daily tea time.
Everyday tableware such as plates and bowls, with their simple yet nuanced forms, pair well with a variety of foods and integrate seamlessly into daily life.
We hope you will choose to experience how a single piece of pottery can enrich your daily life.
