This is a reppuniki (cracked slipware) piece by Takuya Ohara, who creates pottery in Shigaraki, Shiga Prefecture.
Unlike typical crazing where cracks form in the glaze, this technique is designed for the cracks to form in the slip, resulting in a vessel where the black Shigaraki clay underneath appears like a mosaic pattern.
It's a piece to be enjoyed for its mosaic patterns that look as if they've cracked in places, and for the black spots that result from the iron content in the clay reacting during firing.
