These are works by glass artist Yurina Miura.

Ms. Miura creates her pieces using the "pate de verre" technique.
This is a very labor-intensive process that begins by creating a prototype, then a plaster mold.
Glass powder is then placed in this mold and fired in a kiln.

After firing, the plaster mold is broken to remove the glass piece inside.
Therefore, a plaster mold can only be used once per piece and cannot be reused.

The process of polishing the removed piece is also quite demanding, and this is how a single work is born.
Although it is a very inefficient technique, the pieces, with their multi-layered colors and fine bubbles trapped within the glass,
have a gemstone-like appeal.

Ms. Miura's glass pieces feature subdued colors and delicate bubbles, and when light hits them, the layered colors gently shimmer.
Experience this ancient technique, brought to life in Ms. Miura's contemporary works, in your daily life.
