Takeshi Yoshida is a potter who works in Mashiko-machi, Haga-gun, Tochigi Prefecture, a town famous for its pottery.
Mr. Yoshida mainly creates two series: "Bronze," which has a texture like unearthed artifacts, and "Hakudeisai" (White Mud Glaze), which resembles the walls of ancient ruins.
In recent years, he has also added series with highly elaborate sculptural elements.
Many of his works clearly show a strong commitment to color and texture, and their unique appearance, like unearthed artifacts, is distinctive.
This time, we also have original ceramic works such as masks and candlesticks.
On the other hand, many of his vessels are lightweight, making them perfect for everyday use.
