Takeshi Yoshida, a ceramicist, creates his works in Mashiko Town, Haga District, Tochigi Prefecture, a town famous for its pottery.
Mr. Yoshida mainly creates two series: "Bronze," which has the texture of excavated artifacts, and "Hakudeisai" (White Mud Glaze), which resembles the walls of ancient ruins.
In recent years, he has also added series with intricate sculptural elements.
Many of his works show a strong commitment to color and texture, and their unique appearance, like excavated artifacts, is distinctive.
This time, we also have original ceramic pieces such as masks and candle holders.
On the other hand, many of his vessels are lightweight, making them perfect for everyday use.
