These pieces are by wood artist Kinji Yoshida.
Yoshida has a workshop in Minoh City, Osaka Prefecture, where he creates his works.
He personally selects, shapes, hand-carves, and finishes the wood with lacquer.
While retaining the organic beauty unique to hand-carving, the carefully arranged carved patterns are very beautiful.
The "black lacquer" finish has a matte base, but also has a dark luster unique to lacquer.
The "white lacquer" boasts a unique, slightly bluish color.
Both finishes allow the wood grain of the base material to be felt.
