Ms. Obuchi, a ceramic artist in Tokoname City, Aichi Prefecture, uses a variety of colorful glazes to create works with beautiful tones.
The combination of colors changes each time, and organic changes due to firing, such as the melting and flowing of the glaze, are also added.
This creates unique works, no two of which are alike.
There are numerous types of gradations created by the divided glazes, and in recent years, she has also created plates painted with colorful glazes that resemble Impressionist paintings.
Another charm of Ms. Obuchi's pottery is that it is very light and suitable for everyday use.
The rich colors evoke a sense of light, making these vessels a delight to behold and uplifting to the spirit.
