These pieces are by Risa Okubo, a potter working in Tajimi City, Gifu Prefecture.
Okubo creates beautiful, subtly colored vessels primarily in shades of gray and beige.
The multi-layered colors, unique to the glaze, constantly change their impression depending on the light they are exposed to.
The delicate color gradations, the shading and crystalline textures unique to ceramics, and the sculptural, elegant forms of her vessels gently enrich daily life.
From her gentle-looking works, one is drawn into Okubo's world.
The thoughtful sizing and shapes, designed with the user in mind, are also very appealing.
This exhibition also features new additions: the "sway" series with its organic forms, and the "Hoshi wo Atsumete" (Gathering Stars) series, made by baking crushed glass and small stones mixed into a white base.
These are works imbued with Okubo's passion.
Please consider incorporating them into your daily life.
