This is a work by Yohei Goto, who has a studio in Chiba Prefecture.
He creates glass works using kiln-working and pâte de verre techniques.
These techniques are very labor-intensive because they involve creating a mold from a prototype, filling it with glass paste, firing it, and then polishing the surface.
However, this technique creates a jewel-like appeal with fine bubbles, delicate color gradations, and translucent finishes that are unique to this method.
Goto, who also works with stained glass, uses a variety of other techniques and glass to create his works.
His pieces exude a poetic tranquility amidst their brightness.
