Mercury, the planet closest to the sun, continuously rotating at the fastest speed. Despite its scorching environment, the celestial body's name contains the character for "water" (水). This image overlaps with the craftsmanship of two individuals who diligently confront the harsh flames and extract quiet beauty.
Taiga Oku's glass is born in heat exceeding 1300℃. He constantly rotates the rod to prevent the honey-like molten glass from dripping, shaping it swiftly with minimal movements before it cools and hardens. The forms created from this continuous rotation and speed are as refreshing as "water" reflecting the early summer light, possessing a dignified presence.
Daisuke Murai's porcelain is born from the power of nature, beyond human control. He applies unique glazes and slips to pure white Seto porcelain clay, entrusting it to the power of fire. In his vessels, which embrace the uncontrollable fluctuations of nature, a profound landscape unfolds, much like a "celestial body" floating in space.
