These are works by Megumi Miyamoto, who creates pottery in Habikino City, Osaka Prefecture.
Miyamoto's vessels are characterized by their beautiful forms and stunning turquoise glaze.
For her turquoise-glazed pieces, she uses both semi-porcelain and red clay, creating variations with the same glaze depending on the clay.
Since it's a crystalline glaze, no two patterns are the same, making each piece unique.
She mentions that firing the kiln requires extreme care as the glaze is also sensitive to temperature.
In recent years, she has been introducing new glaze expressions at each exhibition.
You can experience Megumi Miyamoto's various forms of blue, such as the glossy, refreshing "Soteki Glaze," the latest "Yoi" series which subtly incorporates purple within colors that change with light, and pieces where these glazes are applied selectively.
